Description This image is based on the Yin Yang principle of Taoism. It was painted with liquid laundry detergent in the black light. I then photographed it and scanned the photograph into the computer to add the color. The night it was painted was July 4th 2000. The shapes involved are meant to mimic the shapes left in ones retina after watching a firework display.
Stephen Gentry, Fort Collins, Colorado Member Since December 2006 Artist Statement My artistic desire is simplicity of form, color, and composition. Life as I know it is so hurried and distracted that I feel I must present an antithesis. Contrasting what is real with what is possible if one shifts focus to the simple things happening quietly all around. Thank you to those who have given and continue to provide feedback, I appreciate your comments. And thank you to those who have purchased my posters.
Currently I am experimenting with woodcut printing and when I have a reasonable/presentable piece I will post it, and if you have some hints or tips I would love to hear them.
