Artist Statement LIFE IS PARADOX, AT PLAY…

I am fascinated and delighted by the creatures, patterns and beauty created by Life. Absolutely individual, yet inseparable from the whole: every creature, every flower, every rust bloom, every atom, every brush stroke. Everything is patterns when you get down to it: something and nothing, duality and oneness, sound and form dancing endlessly…

What inspires me creatively is the spontaneity of the act of creation, the vitality of Life flowing through me and into my work. I have no interest whatsoever in ‘recreating’ or replicating anything, or forcing the process in any way. So every painting is an experiment in the dynamics of flow and co-creation – an invitation to the life force in me and around me to join in the process of creating something new. Every photograph in my portfolio is moment of my wonder and amazement shared. There is beauty in decay, and awakening in the midst of heartbreak. “It need not be this way”, life seems to say through me and to me. “There are other possibilities, other worlds, seen through other eyes and birthed by other actions.”

When you enjoy an image from my portfolio, you join me for a moment in a celebration of life’s wonder and uniqueness. Perhaps you will allow the experience to touch a place inside yourself where life and truth are precious, and the illusions cannot stay.
