Description An image of the typical nightlife in Dublin's Temple Bar neighborhood. The thing that I love about this photo (and indeed many Irish towns in general) is the vibrant colors of the signs and storefronts set against the rough textrues of brick, stone, and wood.
Bernard Hymmen, Kirkland, WA Member Since October 2007 Artist Statement What can I say? I enjoy taking photographs.
While some photographers specialize in portraits, or glamour, or macros, or horses, or even portraits of glamorous macro horses. I think of myself as a generalist. Oh sure, under duress I'd say I was into something like "nature" or "travel" photography, but under those kinds of conditions, what else would you expect?
The thing that really keeps me hooked on photography is the way it has the unique ability to not only freeze a moment in time, but also a point of view as well. When you are looking at one of my photographs you are to some degree sharing an experience out of my life. You are seeing what I saw and how I saw it. This is how photography enriches my life. It makes me take the time to stop, take a look at the world, and decide how I want to preserve my view of that moment in my life.
