Artist Statement Welcome to my site. My artwork is inspired by the natural beauty I have encountered living in Michigan. I have lived in Michigan all my Iife and moved to West Michigan 30 years ago. I have been an artist as long as I can remember and there have been artists in my family going back at least four generations. I received my BFA from Michigan State University in the 1980's. I worked a few years in the commercial art area then got married, started a family and stopped painting for 20 years. A few years back I decided to start painting again, so I guess the old saying holds true: you are never too old to follow your dreams. People often ask, "How long did it take you to finish your painting?" Well with my ArtPrize entry I can honestly say it took over 20 years. After all that time, I picked up my brushes again and finished "Memories of You". Since then, I try to paint every chance I get. So to all of you creative souls out there: it's never too late to follow your dreams!
