Description Image of abandoned building of old sugar beet mill in Longmont, Colorado. 'Historic Sugar Mill'Designed by the Kilby Manufacturing Company, Great Western Sugar Beet Mill is a historic sugar mill that dates back to 1905 CE. In those days, it was a successful business venture and a flourishing industry. However, during the 1970s, the mill fell into decline and had to be eventually closed. Abandoned in 1980, the mill still stands today and consists of a few buildings, a chimney and remnants of a rail yard.
