Description Adam's innovative use of materials shows in this piece. The over-bent shape is as remarkable as it is graceful. I took advantage of a lot of negative space and hard lighting to enhance the dramatic shape of the pipe itself. It looks great on the wall!
Gregory Pease, California Member Since November 2006 Artist Statement
When I was eight years old, or thereabouts, I was introduced to photography by my father, Robert L. Pease, a successful commercial photographer. I will never forget the magic of seeing my first print appear in the warm red glow of the safelights. I was hooked, and have never been far away from a camera since.
In the 1980s, I began exhbiting my own work solo and in group shows. I spent a couple years doing freelance commercial work, but have always found that my heart was really in doing projects of my own choosing, creating my own art. My work has appeared in several galleries, in magazines, and has been purchsed by private collectors on four continents. (Whooooo!)
Recently, I've switched almost exclusively to digital photogaphy. Though I miss basking in the safelight's warm glow, the smell of fixer, and the magic of seeing prints develop before me, I've come to embrace the technology for what it is, and love the freedom and control it provides. With modern equipment and a good understanding of the tools, one can produce images that rival the beauty of silver based prints, and with sites like Imagekind, sharing photographs has become easier than ever.
It's a great joy to be able to present my work to an ever wider world audience, and make them affordable to purchase. Please, step inside, and enjoy!
