Description The three surprised-looking men are situated at the busiest corner in Melbourne, the intersection of Swanston and Bourke Streets, positioned as if they are about to cross the road with great trepidation. The work is called Three Businessmen Who Brought Their Own Lunch: Batman, Swanston and Hoddle, by Alison Weaver and Paul Quinn. The figures pay tribute to three of Melbournes pioneers of the 19th century, as if they have returned as pedestrians, surprised at the developments that have occurred.
Andrew McRae, Melbourne, Australia Member Since October 2008 Artist Statement Greetings, all!
I call myself an amateur enthusiast photographer; it seems to have a more formidable ring to it than enthusiastic amateur. I've shown a lot of my travel photos on Trekearth (at www.trekearth.com/members/macondo) over the last few years and managed to sell a couple to casual online passers-by. Being semi-retired, I have a bit of spare time on my hands for photography. I used to be a teacher, but it triumphed over me a few years back and I have vowed never to darken the door of a classroom again.
I hope you like the photos that I upload to this site.
Andrew
