Description Ancient Egyptians believed that the heart was slightly to the left in the chest. Many Pharaohs were posed with the left foot forward because they believed that this pose offered additional support for the heart. To see a statue with its left foot forward indicates that the person was alive when it was constructed. As you can see, this person was very much alive at the time of construction. SO, keep your left foot forward; be ALIVE!
Ashley Laber Member Since June 2009 Artist Statement I have always been drawn to painting and photography. While I do not profess expertise with either, I am able to find inspiration on a daily basis. I teach History and while it is my ideal profession, art fills that little space in my heart where I dream of faraway places.
