Description print by Robert R. WilsonThe second USS Alliance was a screw gunboat that was in service from 1877 to 1911 with the United States Navy.Laid down as Huron, a screw gunboat of the third rate, in 1873 at the Norfolk Navy Yard, Alliance was launched on 8 March 1875. She was sponsored by Miss Eulalie Boush, whose father, Naval Constructor George R. Boush, was superintending the warship's construction. However, before Huron joined the fleet, she was renamed Alliance to honor the Revolutionary War frigate. Ultimately, Alliance was commissioned on 18 January 1877, Commander Theordore F. Kane in command.
Robert R. Wilson, Lower Sackville Member Since February 2010 Artist Statement I live in Nova Scotia and I've been an artist all my life. I enjoy working with digital art and computers. I have worked in most medium but enjoy the freedom of digital art. Each one of these images holds spiritual meaning to me and you may find meaning there for you as well. Using some basic shapes, along with vibrant textures and effects, I incorporate fractals, license-free images, and rich colors to produce my work. A modern, high-tech or futuristic feel is present in the works but somewhere in each piece is a message from my mind and heart to yours.
My goal is to give your walls a unique, modern and spectacular feel. I hope that my prints can bring you enjoyment. Thank you for visiting!
