Artist Statement Welcome to my beginning effort to share [hmmm...sell] my photography. At times I think this is presumptuous but over the last year, I've had people suggest something like this to me almost every week. It seems that some folks like my work. So, I'm turning a new corner. Thought I'd give the notion of selling my photography a trial run. I'm not great a marketing, or selling, but I do love images and photography. I love to capture moments in time, gain a fascinating perspective on the commonplace or otherwise open the eyes of my viewers to the marvelous, multicolored and multi-faceted world in which we live. As I build different galleries here with Imagekind, you will see fascinating places and people I have met as I've traveled around the world. It is my hope that these images open that world a bit more for you.

By the way, I plan to donate at least 10% [I hope to build that up to 30% eventually] of any profits from my photography to places and people with demonstrated need in the world. I work for a non-profit organization and in my line of work come across many desperate situations. I blog about my work and some of the people I meet regularly if you want to learn more, over here: http://www.andresjourney.info/andres.

I am from Seattle, Washington, but have lived in Latin America for 10 years [mostly Monterrey, Mexico with a year in Costa Rica], and just returned from a year in Barcelona, Spain, which began in September of \'06. I am a graduate student, husband, father of 3 remarkable children, and an ordained minister, which many may find interesting. Essentially, it speaks of my love for God and desire to serve others, especially those on the margins of society, and those religiously different than me. We live in a world that is conflicted in many ways and it is my desire to build bridges of understanding and peace where possible, respecting each person in their own right and celebrating differences that often divide.

My photography seeks to reflect the beauty of God's world and the diversity of cultures, places and people in the wonderful mosaic of our common world.
