Description Here are two symbols of Baltimore's Fort MdHenry, a United States Flag and a Rodman Cannon. The flag in this fine art print is the 'Storm Flag' measuring 25' x 17' - which is smaller than the 'Garrison Flag' measuring 42' x 30' was the largest battle flag ever flown. The cannon is also the largest ever to be installed at Fort McHenry. The Rodman Cannon could fire an exploding shell weighing 440 pounds.
Bill Swartwout Photography, Fenwick Island, DE Member Since April 2007 Artist Statement Welcome to one of my homes on the Web. Photography has been a part of me for more than half a century. I grew up in a small family that moved around the country a lot. I did wedding photography and aerial photography to work my way through college. Thus, my affinity for travel, pictures and adventure.
Mother Nature is my favorite artist. I endeavor to share some of her creations in my landscape and seascape photographs.
Today, our Internet business involves travel - and we do like to travel. I have been accumulating imagery of places we have been and am selecting some of the more interesting shots to illustrate those places. My favorites, of course, are of my former home town Baltimore and where I now reside at the beach near Fenwick Island, Delaware, just north of Ocean City, Maryland. At the beach I photograph water and boardwalk scenes and bridges and jetties with varying light qualities. In the "big city" I enjoy the myriad styles of building architecture and, always, the touristy images. Bon Voyage. :)
