Artist Statement Philosophy. I am a natural light photographer. Photography is my passion – exploring the world around me with my camera. I am interested in light, shadow, design, gesture, harmony, and above all color. Color is an emotional thing with me, and without it, my photos simply do not exist. I view myself, photographically speaking, an alchemist, in that, my photographs are mostly of things one sees each day without noticing the beauty and uniqueness of them. Two of the things dearest to me are photography and love. For me, in many respects, the two are inseparable. You have to love yourself, the way you lead your life, the relationships you have, your fellow man, and the things around you to be a good photographer. Capturing beautiful moments that is uniquely revealed in people, still life, landscapes, for example, is one of the greatest joys of photography. Photography has allowed me to become an incorrigible thief of sort. I can think of no other profession, passion, or hobby which allows me to take the images of autumn colored trees, ripples on water, reflections in a window, or the old timer napping in Barcelona with the pigeon on his leg, then viewing them at another place, and time, even decades later. These days all this is accomplished on my own time and leisure as we do not accept any assignment or commissioned projects. Much of what I have accomplished with my photography wouldn't have been possible without the support, or at the very least, extreme indulgence, of my wife and children. To them... Thank you. It has been a great journey. Enjoy!
