Artist Statement I have been an artist nearly all of my life. I grew up in a small farming community in South Georgia. In the beginning, I took private art lessons just for fun. Later, I became serious about my talent and graduated from Wesleyan College with a major in Studio Art. My favorite method of working is from life and in plein-air. I primarily work in pencils, watercolors, pastels, acrylics, and oils. I have also produced work with photography, ceramics, and 3-D mixed media. My goal with each work is to reproduce for the viewer the mood and feeling evoked by the subject. I want each viewer to have the same feelings about the subject matter as I felt during each work's creation.
