Artist Statement Jay Goss is a full-time equestrian sports and equine portrait photographer. Since 1988 he has served as official photographer to some of the Northwest’s largest horse shows, such as the Evergreen Classic Hunter/Jumper Show, Michelob Classic Grand Prix, and the Region IV and V Arabian Championships.
Outside the showring, a large portion of his work consists of photographing breeding and show stock for private clients. His work has been published in many of the major breed and equestrian journals such as Arabian Horse World, Horse & Rider, The Morgan Connection, and The Chronicle of the Horse.
Jay has been a co-leader and instructor at several photography seminars held at the Ponderosa Guest Ranch in Seneca, Oregon.
Jay also provides a wide variety of other photographic services, from senior portraits and weddings to commercial work for such clients as Land o’ Lakes, Flight Safety Boeing, and Alstom Esca Corporation.
Jay’s wife, Connie, runs the “digital darkroom,” providing digital printing, scanning, expert photo retouching and restoration, image preparation for the web, and graphics services.
