Artist Statement Hi, welcome to my galleries.
I'm a Canadian born artist now residing in Malaysia. I've been working professionally as an artist since 1980, a somewhat arbitrary number as I’ve been drawing and painting for as loon as I can remember. I have exhibited my paintings in Vancouver and coastal B.C., Bangkok, Singapore & Malaysia, areas I’ve lived in over time.
I’ve traveled extensively over the years and you’ll see that people, places and cultures are a recurring theme in my art. I've also worked in illustration for children's books, done comic strips and caricature. Nowadays I also work with camera and computer.
More recently I have found a passion in growing orchids, and in doing paintings of them. I find the peculiar symmetry in orchid flowers and vegetation totally fascinating. The subject lends itself well to almost any medium, and my orchid art is done mainly in acrylic and airbrush, and in the digital art format.
Digital style aside, I attach importance to papers I use with my paintings. Some of my paintings are done on regular watercolour papers, from 180lb weight to 300lb. Others, such as the ones I am initially presenting on this site are done on handmade tissue type papers. These look and feel more textured than conventional papers and impart the particular look of my paintings. The deckled edges impart a rustic feel to the final product, an idea that I also incorporate into some of the digital artwork. Prints made on more textured surfaces will better reflect the mood of the originals.

I’m new to imagekind and I’ve lots of artwork to share with you. I will be adding on to my galleries regularly. I hope to entertain you with an ever expanding visual treat for your heart and home.
