Mojtaba Seyedmahmoud, Fort Lauderdale Member Since March 2014 Artist Statement My name is Mojtaba Seyedmahmoud. I was born in Tehran, Iran. I came to United States when I was 24 years old, and I am living in South Florida for the last 30 years. I have a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Florida International University. I started drawing lines on napkins in 2008, soon after that I got motivated to draw in colors using markers, pencils, pastels, and acrylics. As years past by, I grew from drawing and painting on papers and tiles with humans and animals portraits to imaginary flowers, birds, landscapes, and abstracts. In year 2011, I discovered my own style of drawing that I called it MOEISM. For many years, people calling me Moe and I signed all my artworks with that name in front of my drawings, and wrote my full name in the back of frames. Almost all my artworks are inspired by events that are happening around our surrounding environments. As a result, I donated several of my drawings to peoples, and to organizations such as United Way of Central Oklahoma for Tornado Relief Fund. MOEISM is a new style of painting, usually starts with a particular message which is delivered through human body movements in a form of calligraphy. MOEISM is a creative style that continues to evolve by time. I hope that you enjoy these artworks as much as I do.
