Description A tree in my back yard, a few springs ago. You can see that the real subject of this picture, for me, is the light. There's a glory to a light like this through tree leaves; something magical and rare. The strong diagonal in this photo is going in the "wrong" directional, against the way that our Western eyes have been trained to "read" photos, which, to me, adds to the otherworldliness of the photograph.
JaNell Golden, Cyberlachia Member Since March 2007 Artist Statement I have a degree in Advertising Art, and have always enjoyed making art and jewelry of one kind or another. I'm from Appalachia, and have a lot of hillbilly tendencies.
There's not one particular style I'm focused on, in the long term. I go though spurts of experimentation, focusing on one style until I've digested it, and then switch to another medium such as photography, writing, or making jewelry until the next obsessive art phase.
