Description the challenge was getting the feathers right in this sketch of this huge owl which is the largest of the owls. oil pastels on paper. i did this sketch for my dear aunt who since has passed away so the painting wandered back home to me. oil pastels on paper. 16x20 [framed]. original for $150.

Artist Statement i have always loved horses. ok...maybe obsessed is a better word. in addition to being involved with horses for the past forty seven years, i sketched and painted them in my spare time[i even doodled them every where]. my work has evolved into capturing the life and spirit of the beautiful creature we call horse. i work mostly in pastels and acrylics but have also used mixed media to get certain effects.

my buddy icon is a grooming brush i painted. there are about fifty of them across the country in tack boxes or on shelves. the miniatures i painted on these brushes were my most popular item.

although i can no longer ride due to arthritis coupled with thyroid triggered obesity [grr] i can still create my own stable of horses on paper or canvas.
