Description The Bavarian town of Hahnbach (in English, 'Rooster Stream') is, in many ways, typical of other towns throughout the region. The dominant building of the town is an old Catholic church. There is a central area, or stadtmitte, where many of the town's prominent businesses are located, along with the rathaus (city hall). One main road runs through town, and passes through at least one gate.
Where Hahnbach is atypical of other Bavarian town lies in the fact that it has a statue of a man running with a bicycle, the Radltrager-Denkmal. What is he running to? Why is he carrying the bicycle instead of riding it? Does he have aspirations of entering the Tour De France and thinks that he can run with the bicycle faster than others can ride with it? Unfortunately, my German skills never developed to the point where I could read what was written on the description next to the statue.
Take care and have a great day. If you've decided to purchase a print or a framed version of this photograph, thanks.
