Description This Sister runs a preschool in Zambia, Africa. She has about 100 chickens who provide her with eggs. She, then, walks into town on foot with large containers of eggs balanced expertly on her head. The proceeds from the eggs which she sells in the market provide the means to operate her preschool where she lovingly devotes herself to the care of the children.
Kathleen Wendland, Lake Oswego, Oregon Member Since December 2019 Artist Statement I love telling stories without words. In color, black and white or sepia. I have had the privilege of capturing many living, breathing stories. They can be told through the lined faces of veterans; the way a couple holds hands; in the posture of an orphan. I strive to tell honest, powerful stories. And I would be honored if the stories captured in my images had a place in your home or office.
Ten percent of my proceeds go to The Sisters of Our Lady Queen of Africa, who have some of the most amazing stories.
