Artist Statement Wendy Chen is a local artist whose work can be described as both contemporary and experimental. She likes to use elements from the real world as her subjects, changing their characteristics to create an opportunity to explore visual possibilities. Her work consists mostly of landscapes, which often emphasize the simple and subtle beauty of nature. Using texture and colors to juxtapose simple landscapes, she tries to create endless perspective to the viewers...

Whether a breathtaking sunset view or a rusty trashcan on the sidewalk, she draws inspiration from all things discovered… using bold colors with strong contrasts in shapes and texture to create atmospheric vistas. She compels her audience to embrace her

Graduating in 2003 with an Industrial Art Degree, Wendy uses most of her time creating artwork and commercial illustrations. Her work has been exhibited in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art as well as other private events.
