Artist Statement Born in Hertfordshire, England in 1982, I have been painting ever since I can remember. In 1998, to add an academic dimension to my paintings, I enrolled at an Art College, where I achieved a GNVQ in Art & Design and later an A Level in Textile Design.
My love of textures and pattern developed after my A Levels. Encouraged by the variety of my textile course, I then went on to study for a Higher National Diploma in 2000 and then a BA in Textile Design in 2002. It was during this course that I really got into the painting of flowers and pattern, which is prominent in most of my current artworks.
After leaving college, I continued to paint and draw developing my own style, and selling my work through private buyers. I have participated in a few exhibitions. Notable among them was the New Designers in London Exhibition, where I exhibited my work in 2002 and 2003.
Since 2005, I have been working as a Greeting Card Designer for a small independent greeting card company, which designs and supplies greeting cards to a wide range of Greeting Card Retailers.
At the moment, I am working privately and selling paintings to private buyers and art collectors.

Most of my artwork is inspired by my love of flowers. From the delicate Japanese peonies, to the bold sunflowers, through to the tropical orchids, you could never become bored with them.
The feelings that a single flower can evoke on a person are exceptional. I wanted to capture this feeling in my paintings and to allow people to really look at the flower, something that is all around us, but because of our current hectic lifestyles, we do not always make time to stop and appreciate it.
As the artist Georgia O'Keefe once remarked "if you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment". I wanted to allow people to capture this feeling through my art.
On a trip to the Victoria and Albert Museum, London some time ago, I came a cross a collection of Japanese kimonos, and that was when my love affair with all things Japanese begun. The boldness and striking beauty of the patterns left me star struck.
Through out the years I have combined these patterns with my love of flowers to produce beautiful, delicate pieces, which are expressly portrayed in my current work.
