Artist Statement After a long stretch away from paint, pen, and ink, I have started drawing and painting. I've gotten such a positive response from artists and other MySpace friends, that I couldn't contain myself. My paintings are generally 5 x 7 to 8 x 10. They have a dense detail that is very labor intensive, but very satisfying. I use acrylic rather than watercolor to create vivid colorful images that pop off of the paper. It's difficult to classify my style, but many of the images of flora and fauna you might recognize, but they don't exist in nature.

Some 20 years ago I did a number of shows in the Pittsburgh area - including my first at the Town Square Gallery and the Pittsburgh Civic Garden Center. My first show was reviewed by Donald Miller, from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette - (see my webpage). I was a member of the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society and won the "Grumbacher Award" for a painting in a Watercolor Society group show. I have paintings in the following permanent collections:

Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation (Carnegie Mellon University)
Carnegie Institute Children's Library in Pittsburgh
Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh
Southern Allegheny Museum of Art (Johnstown, PA)
