Description Blackbird singing in the dead of nightTake these broken wings and learn to fly- The Beatles, BlackbirdBlackbird rising brings the message of overcoming negative situations by stayingtrue to your dreams and following your divine will or purpose. It is about taking noticeof signs and coincidences, messages from the universe which tell you which way togo and confirm when you are on the right path. The song Blackbird followed me the first time I exhibited at Holloway Gallery. I notedit playing on the stereo as I exited my Uber ride from the airport to the motel. Thenext morning I wake to the notes of Blackbird being strummed on an acoustic guitaron tv in the motel room, I begun singing the words quietly in my mind. I got up andchecked out of the motel and wandered down towards the beach to explore, there Istumbled upon a small street market and as I strolled through the stalls familiar notesdrifted towards me. I followed the music to a group of young buskers playingBlackbird. This painting is for anyone who has ever had their broken and is ready again to rise, now is your moment to arise.
Kirty Bell Member Since January 2017 Artist Statement Australian Pop Impressionist oil painter Kirty Bell was born in Deniliquin and grew up creating art in Albury before moving to the tropical rainforest above Cairns. Self taught she has always drawn or painted for as long as she can recall encouraged by many other artistic relatives including her mother.
Kirty currently paints on the road in her mobile studio and still somehow manages to produce amazingly detailed and beautifully deep work. Her implied narrative style is inspired by the world in which we are all immersed and often touches on political and environmental themes. Kirty's use of animals throughout her art play an important role in deciphering the meaning behind each work as they are always used symbolically.
