Description Down Cathedral viewed from the grounds of Inch Abbey near Downpatrick in County Down. Down Cathedral is the supposed burial place of Saint Patrick. Inch Abbey is a ruined Cistercian monastery in the Irish countryside. St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on 17th March and there is a parade in Downpatrick every year. The area of County Down photographed has strong links with the early Celtic Church and the later Norman settlement of Ireland.
John McCoubrey, County Down Member Since February 2012 Artist Statement I am based outside Ballynahinch in County Down, Northern Ireland. I love photographing the wonderful Irish landscape and scenery.
