Artist Statement Jamil-Kareem Jones is an African American Photographer born and raised in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. After honrably completing his service in the US Army as a combat medic. He relocated his family to a quite New Orleans suburb.

Growing up in single parent house hold in Inner-City phildaelphia, Jamil-Kareem was introduced to photography by a mentor and a long time family friend. Since this time Jamil-Kareem has developed a passion for the fine arts aspects Of photography. Along with his music (Which Jamil-Kareem is also professional Guitar Player) He uses his photography as a form as self expression.

"I love photography for it allows me to express the way I see the world, It often amazes me how photography freezes a single moment in time and from that frame there are so many stories that could be told from it"

Jamil-Kareem has also started a Non-Profit Organization called ChangeThroughExposure.org. Which is a media outlet dedicated to raising awareness of social problems in America and Africa through the mediums of documentography and photojournalism..
