Description During the time I was attached to the Colombian equivalent of our Pentagon I would take short weekend road trips a few hours from Bogot. Since the country is a bit dangerous but beautiful I would not venture too far unless I was on a mission; but then I was not carrying a camera. This was taken with a medium format camera, west of Bogot. Coming off the mountain on an early drive my driver and I entered some heavy fog. Not wanting to tangle with the lousy Colombian drivers in fog we stopped at a rest area to wait for the fog to lift. Where we stopped there was a shrine built with headlights of traffic accidents, a donkey resting on some high ground, a small restaurant and this family selling snacks and beer. Note the steep drop. This is one of my favorite images of Colombia.
Larry Costales, Lake Elsinore Member Since July 2007 Artist Statement A self taught photographer, I do actor head shots and portraits for money and fine art images for myself and love of the art. Due to my military duty that took me away from home on five year long tours, after 20 years I am still an undiscovered actor. No regrets, I even served one year in Kuwait as a contractor because I still felt a need to support our troops. I specialize in color and texture and while I was in Kuwait I expanded my art to include some people. I always try to capture some sort of mood or emotion in my images that I hope you notice and are effected by. A few of my images are first place award winners, others have yet to be submitted for competition. Please leave a comment and let me know what images you liked. If your a LA Dodger fan I can be seen on You Tube- 2007 commercials. Look for "Miracle Toast".
