Description The supercarrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63), formerly CVA-63, is the second naval ship named after Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, the site of the Wright brothers' first powered airplane flight. Kitty Hawk was both the first and last active ship of her class, and the last oil fired aircraft carrier in service with the US Navy.
Michael Colclough, Adelaide Member Since November 2014 Artist Statement This artwork is relatively new in the art world, a new kind of art. As opposed to conventional painting or photography, digital art allows a person to render any image on to any scenery, thereby creating a whole new class of artists. What it also allows those of us who are historians, is to create photos of military history like they were just taken, instead of some historical grainy black and white photo. While these artistic creations may not be considered 'real' art or genuine photography, it is undeniable that this kind of art is here to stay. It has been referred to as 'Digiart'.
I am one of those Digital Artists. I do military art.
