Artist Statement To start off, my name is Shayna Jewell. I am 20 and I have been drawing my entire life.
It started as a simple child thing of drawing in every page of a note book, creating a picture book with no words. Blacky the panther was the character I created and starred in all of those.. Ohh, those were the days..

*Ahem*. Anyways! If you have found an interest in my artwork, you may find that I have a strong love for things fantasy and dark. People have compared my artwork to Tim Burton, an amazing artist himself. Such a compliment is too much for me, I must say.

I am a Traditional artist. Meaning I don't much care for coloring over the computer. I prefer to do everything by hand with pencils, pen, marker, and paint. I am also a tattoo artist and have painted a mural in a local shop in our area.

My styles range from realism to anime. I favor drawing people and animals over still life at time, but does depend on the mood.

I strive for dark and elegant looking pieces, though sometimes cute or even morbid.

Music, life, and other artists inspire me. I hope to continually improve myself as the years go by.
