Description As I was walking along a hiking trail designate #8 at Dinner Island Ranch Wild Management Area, I seem to have startle a small herd of cows. I was startled myself, not aware that the cattle were still running free while the lands were open for recreational purposes. They turned to run, only to find the trail had been fenced off my barbed wire and then proceeded to huddly very closely and defensively as if to they were ready to take me on! I found the moment by both freightening and humurous. I loved the coward hiding behind the other four. There is one in every crowd! Needless to say I retreated while repeatedly looking over my shoulder. It was better to just go find another trail.....
