Description This piece was inspired by a sculpture called le Desesoir, by Jean Joseph Perraud, I saw at Musee d' Orsay while visiting Paris a few years ago. It impressed me so much that I couldn't wait to get home to my studio and begin working. It has since earned me a finalist place in International Artist Magazines challenge #74, and another finalist place in the 2013/2014 Art Renewal Center Salon. It still hangs in my home, and is one of my favorites.
Jason Patrick Jenkins, Philadelphia Member Since December 2015 Artist Statement I am a Canadian artist, born and raised in Newfoundland. I have been very fortunate to have always known that my calling in life was to be an artist. I graduated with my BFA in 2001. In the years that followed, I took commissions, exhibited in galleries, and taught private art lessons and workshops. My career took me from Newfoundland to Montreal for a few years and eventually as far as South Korea. In 2013, The Art Renewal Center awarded my the title of Associate Living Master. Despite my successes, I am a believer that education is a continuous journey and that we can and should always strive to excel. I am currently living in the USA, where I have returned to school with the intention of advancing my work to the next level and am studying full-time in the Advance Fine Art program at Studio Incamminati.
