Artist Statement I have always loved art but its been in the past 7 years I have really dedicated myself to my craft. Mainly self taught but also had some valuable Academic training. I seem to combine photography and art a lot more now . It just helps with ideas composition and capturing something special that you would like to paint in your own way. I would love to share ideas, with like minded artists as it can be a very intense and sometimes isolating career choice which is why I also do alternative work with people , I find it very important to stay connected to the community as it informs alot of my work. There are many artists, I admire such as Turner, Van gogh, these artists especially van gogh painted with such intensity you can almost feel the emotion. I also love Rothko 's use of colour and the way the colours communicate, Munch, Arthur Dove, Agnes Pelton, Hokusai, Kenneth Noland, Vermeer and also the Glasow artist Howson for his depiction of humanity. With my Art I hope to engage the viewer and relate to them something wonderful, limitless all encompassing, my own feelings at the time, I guess when I paint at times, I feel a strong sense of unity, I am aware of the inherent mystery in life.
