Artist Statement Aeroglifix was founded by its Director Bob "Kato" Tyler as a provider of quality aviation products in a variety of media.

Bob earned his Private Pilot's license at Ipswich airport in the UK. His love of aviation led him to the United States Marine Corps, where he flew the T-34C Turbo Mentor with VT-3 at NAS Whiting Field, Florida, and the T-45A Goshawk with VT-21 at NAS Kingsville, Texas.

Later, while working as an Engineer for John Deere in Iowa, he had the opportunity to work in, and subsequently supervise, the Virtual Reality department for the Construction Equipment Division. Here he became familiar with modeling, motion capture, and virtual reality 3D headsets.

In November 2003, Bob purchased the flight simulator "Lock-On - Modern Air Combat", and two months later Co-founded the online aerobatics team the "Virtual Blue Angels", whose members fly in real-time via internet connection. Since Lock-On did not include a flyable F/A-18A, as was used by the real Blue Angels at that time, Bob soon learned how to modify the aircraft and scenery to accurately represent the Blue Angels demonstration with his fellow team members. Bob was chosen as the Commanding Officer of the Virtual Blues, and led the team through multiple online flight demonstrations to large audiences streaming the show over the internet. Bob has recently retired as VBA C/O, but the Virtual Blue Angels continue to emulate the dedication and professionalism of the real Blue Angels using the flight simulator "DCS World".

Aeroglifix was formed using many of the skills acquired from aviation, virtual reality, and virtual aerobatics.

The name Aeroglifix combines the aviation theme with that of hieroglyphics, the ancient Egyptian writing system using figures and characters in pictographic script. The Aeroglifix logo shows a triangle representing a pyramid, and a pair of Egyptian vultures, the latter of which represent both flight, and the letter "A" in hieroglyphic texts.

All Aeroglifix products are created digitally, using 3D models to represent aircraft and squadrons through history and across the globe.
