Artist Statement Studio Mosquito Blue, I guess got its ‘'start’ on a sunny Saturday afternoon in a small park in Sao Paolo, Brazil. I stumbled across this park filled with color. Incredible color. An energy. The color was coming from all sorts of sources. The vegetation, the light, the people and… the art. That day back in the Spring of 1997, I bought my first canvas, a box of paint and 5 paintbrushes. And went home with a new ‘energy’. My first painting, with originality is called ‘MyFirst’. Others include ‘'Bananas’ and ‘'FruitBowl’.

After Brazil, living in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Brussels Belgium, I found other colors and ambiance that led to paintings such as ‘'Peaceful 1 &2’ and ‘'Sunset’ and ‘'Tree’.

The last 10 years I have been living in Italy, while spending lots of time in Nezignan L’Eveque, France. The Mediterranean. With its unique colors, spirit, charm and atmosphere, it has introduced a variety of styles into my paintings and paintings such as ‘'GreenShadows’, ‘'BoatPeople’ and 'BlackDot’.

Now living in Parma, Italy, I have been working a lot on sculptures, like the ‘'Frog’ series. While painting, I have been using a more abstract form that can be seen in the ‘'Birds’ series.

I continue to search for new ideas, exploring the many mediums, styles, forms that come across in everyday life, whether in imagination or real life. The 'energy’ continues. Hope you like what you see.
