Description The Roman Forum, sometimes known by its original Latin title, Forum Romanum, is located between the Palatine hill and the Capitoline hill of the city of Rome. It is the central area around which the ancient Roman civilization developed. Citizens referred to the location as the 'Forum Magnum' or just the 'Forum'.The oldest and most important structures of the ancient city are located in the forum, including its ancient former royal residency the Regia and the surrounding complex of the Vestal virgins. The Old Republic had its formal Comitium there where the senate, as well as Republican government began. The forum served as a city square and central hub where the people of Rome gathered for justice, and faith. The forum was also the economic hub of the city and considered to be the center of the Republic and Empire.
Vicenc Feliu, Villanova, PA Member Since August 2008 Artist Statement I began my involvement with photography using my father's Kodak Brownie 2 Box Camera when I was a child. While my first attempts were not very successful, the bug caught and I have been dabbling ever since. When I reached High School age, I took my first course in photography from Mr. Freeman at Anaheim High and there I began learning the mechanics and the artistry of photography. That was my first experience with a SLR and with working in the darkroom. The biggest change in my photography addiction came about with the advent of digital. I quickly realized that, with digital, we amateurs could get out and shoot as much as the pros did and be able to improve our game. After all, practice makes perfect. I got my first digital camera as soon as I was able and I have never looked back since. Not that I have forgotten about film. I'm still shooting on film and love to experiment with different formats.
