Description Hay Cart is a sepia tone photographic art print of an old hay cart located in the Amana Colonies. I was on a photo shoot of farms around the Amana Colonies in Eastern Iowa. The time frame was the middle of a February that hadnt produced much snow. With little or no snow on the ground, the scenery takes on a barren look, which the sepia tone highlights. I almost drove by this scene. It was one of those things I caught out of the corner of my eye. It took me two blocks to register what I thought I saw and then turned around. Glad I did! I used a sepia tone finish on the photograph for that old rustic look. The sepia brown tones originated with film photography as part of the process to develop the prints in the 1800s. Today, we can recreate that same vintage look digitally.t is matted and framed can change the entire look of the print.Follow my work: TheWallGallery: https://thewallgallery.com Blog: http://thewallgalleryblog.wordpress.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/KirtWallGallery Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/TheWallGallery.KirtTisdaleCopyright 2013 Kirt Tisdale/TheWallGallery.com
Kirt Tisdale, Everett, Washington Member Since February 2013 Artist Statement I have been creating art since I can remember. I have been blessed with having my work featured in various venues. What drives me is the beauty in the world with which we live. I remember as a kid looking up at the clouds and watching them change shape...if they could only stay in one shape long enough for me to enjoy and appreciate them....but that's not how it works. What I can do though is take a moment and freeze it. The beauty around us needs to be savored, contemplated and appreciated. Good art invokes an emotional response either through the scene depicted or the colors used. I hope my work invokes the same in you.
