Description In 2002, my good friend Jason Lee and I took a road trip, sort of. By 'sort of,' I mean that we had a set destination and a certain amount of time to get there, unlike a traditional road trip (a la 'Travels with Charley' by John Steinbeck) where you take off into the unknown with no set plan and destination. I was moving across the country from Baltimore to Ft. Lewis, WA (40 minutes south of Seattle) for my first assignment as a brand new Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Jason went along with me to help with driving. He flew back home courtesy of the U.S. Air Force.
Since we had five days to make the trip, and made South Dakota 18 hours after leaving Baltimore, we decided to take some time to do some sightseeing. Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming was one of our destinations. While en route, I took this picture. We had just driven up into the Rockies and had stopped to admire the view.
