Description This incredibly scenic 10-acre lake, located in the Black Hills National Forest near Mt. Rushmore National Monument, is named after the 19th century rustlers who camped here. In addition to its pristine beauty, Horse Thief Lake serves as an excellent starting point for hikes into the back country, including up to Mt. Rushmore.
