Jason Durocher, Camarillo Member Since January 2010 Artist Statement Jason Durocher is a southern California native. Early art influence came from his grandmother, professional artist, Shirley Prescott. She taught of color harmony, relationships between shapes and figures, and an independent, free painting style. The artist within us all asks our deepest questions and plays an important role in how we live our lives. A strong appreciation for nature can result in dark cityscapes or sunny beach view of a hungry seagull. Organic time moves in one direction- through the cycle of birth, growth, development, decay and death- and the past that is already dead remains present in the future that has still to be born. Laughing along, as we search to find where the rubber meets the road.
