the sandman
it was a moonless night i waited for a sky inkblack not wishing to be seen i forsook my shawl of stars and wrapped myself in hooded cloak of midnight
down on the sand i knelt a supplicant prepared to pay the price chanting the charm of making the kiss of waves like rustling silk the sea echoed my words in endless chorus
i made you in that sand outlined your form recumbent each careful curve defined every part of you perfectly delineated matching the image patterned deep within the chamber of desire
and as i spoke the final words leaned down into that sculpted damp and breathed life into you you sighed and stretched magnificent and opened newborn eyes and i beheld the word made flesh
oh yes we shamed the absent sun with the fire of our passion limbs tangled yes again digging deep into the sand that was your birthbed
after all was done and spent the madness faded with the charm i had to give you back you flesh no longer crumbled even as i held you back to that from which you came
and i arose cloaked once again in midnight's starless black much older than the hours passed with you seven years the willing sacrifice for that sweet charm of making how many more i wonder have i left to spend ~ copyright 2015 RC deWinter
