Description The Story: Aeryn and Cayte stalked the doe silently. Both knocked their arrows and held their breath. The doe turned its head away. Aeryn had just enough time to draw. He fingered the feathers gently and murmured a prayer. The arrow flew. Suddenly a melody coursed through the wood, the deer leaped away. The arrow plunged into the grass. The song continued, issuing from nowhere, stopping nowhere. Cayte started to speak, but her words made no sound. The song grew louder. And then it stopped, falling into silence like a dive into a ravine. A light glimmered a little distance away. Aeryn shrugged towards Cayte. Silently, they crept toward the light. Aeryn would never forget what emerged from that old elm, covered in vines. The Description:I've had a vision for a Dryad piece for a long time. I've tried it in several different mediums; this one by far gave the best result. I almost always use the skin tones in a piece to create the overall feel. I tried to mix the golden tint of magic with the light browns of nature. Then I used the lips and the eyes, the vehicles of true expression, to give more depth with the green. Initially the scrapes and grain were much thinner on the shoulder, and that was my original plan. I felt, however, that it was wasting a large space that I could be using in the development of the basic principle of the picture.
R Michael Rehnborg, United States Member Since December 2006 Artist Statement I am R Michael Rehnborg. You will see here art of varied source and mediums. Most of my marketable work, however, is photomanipulation. I will do a digital painting, photomanipulation, pen or pencil rendering, or illuminated manuscript on request. Email me with requests at: TalaetheFlame@yahoo.com. You can buy prints of my work for about ten dollars. A select few may be more expensive due to their subject matter (i.e. original characters), or time consumption, which costs me dearly. None of them will surpass $16.
(I have no control over the cost of the framing options, but my advice would be to order the print alone)
