Description Shah Jehan Mosque Thatta, Pakistan. The architecture and symmetry give an aura of peace and tranquility. The windows of open lattice work bring in cool breezes from the surrounding garden. This mosque was built in 1647 during the reign of Mughal King Shah Jahan. The mosque is built with red bricks with blue coloured glaze tiles likely imported from another Sindh's town of Hala. The patterns, colors, shadows and lines change as you move through the courtyards and side galleries.
Denise Davies, Antigonish Member Since September 2007 Artist Statement I grew up in Cape Breton Nova Scotia and lived in Antigonish and Halifax and traveled throughout the province. I am a graduate of St. FX and enjoy discovering new and interesting views of the world.
From my early days of hiking, camping, guiding and fishing I have always enjoyed finding beauty in common and uncommon places. These places are on city streets, on the shore, off the beaten track or in your own back yard.
I have lived and worked in many countries of the world (Canada, Pakistan, USA, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Papua New Guinea and others) and enjoy travel and living in different cultures and environments. See documentary films that I have worked on at http://davies.eckova.com/films_media.asp
See the 2 photo books on Nova Scotia - you can find the links on my page http://www.outandaboutns.com
I am planning other photo books from other parts of the world and with a series of images for framing.
