Description A photo of the Library of Celsus from my trip to Turkey. Built in 117 A.D, this library is one of the most incredible structures in Ephesus. It was a monumental tomb for Gaius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus. It was also a repository of over 12,000 scrolls. The library is a typical example of the architectural style prevalent in the period under Emperor Hadrian.
