Artist Statement I was born and raised in Satellite Beach, FL - a small town near NASA’s East Coast headquarters - which perhaps initiated my interest in space exploration. During college I resided in Southern California, and graduated from Chapman University in May 2015 with a BFA in Studio Art. Kansas City is currently where I live and work. I have exhibited work at the American Museum of Ceramic Art and participated in and helped curate several group exhibitions at Chapman’s Guggenheim Gallery.

My recent work focuses on both internal and external exploration, often dealing with enigmatic subject matter such as the cosmos, consciousness, or an investigation of self. In particular, I am interested in the collision of beauty and power, whether the subject matter is animals, humans, or things that are out of our control. I constantly experiment with different media, but the majority of my recent work has taken the form of figurative clay sculpture and colorful paintings.
