Description This painting was created by rendering colorful bright splashes on a wood surface in acrylic and allowing it to dry without any brushstrokes. Once it was dry I painted the white background which is actually the foreground and was painted last. The negative space by painting the white created the floral shapes. Once dry I used pastel crayons to draw loose outlines around the petals adding dimension and shape. I finished it by using a gel medium which not only protects the surface it brings out the color adding depth and texture.
