Description Nothing says Boston like the Boston Common, the 'Make Way for Ducklings' sculpture, and the Hancock buildings, both old and new. Cityscapes are beginning to really interest me. It has to do with capturing the feel of a city, just as a landscape painting speaks to the beauty of nature. Original, 18' x 24', oil on canvas
Barbara Busenbark, Hampton Falls, NH. Member Since October 2010 Artist Statement I am a painter. While New England is my home, and most of my paintings reflect that, I also enjoy traveling and painting different places. The joy of painting is a cycle of give and take for me. While I paint I am fully immersed, consumed and focused in the act of painting. It is a release from which I emerge with a sense of personal growth and expression, always reaching and learning. It is also a means of communication, sharing how I see the world with others. Also feeding the hunger to create is how my work is received. When people look at my work and are impacted by it in a way that brings joy and contentment the cycle is both completed and renewed to start again. With that, the vibrant colors of my paintings are alive, I am alive.
