Artist Statement Laura Olson is a freelance photographer specializing in animals both farm, wild, and domestic. She enjoys creating fantasy artwork of a Celtic or Storybook nature by digitally manipulating these photos into scenes that spark joy and wonderment. Her artwork easily fits into homes of anyone who enjoys the natural flora and fauna of the world regardless of culture. Laura's primary occupation is that of a public school music strings teacher. Her business, Blue Steer Studios, houses both her music composition and publishing studio as well as her newer photography projects. She holds both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees and currently resides in the sunny (and sometimes too hot) central valley of California with her 2 sheep (Ram and Ewe), Australian Shepherd, and a fluffy white and gray cat. Frequently these can be seen in her work alongside works featuring animals of friends, neighbors, and clients.
