Description McGEE CREEK PICNIC AREA IN AUTUMN by Lynn Bauer - Aspen trees are in various stages of green, yellow, gold, and peach at McGee Creek in California's High Sierra Mountains. The picnic area by the creek is overflowing with fall color set against the backdrop of the mountain peaks. It is an amazing sight, and very soothing, as you can listen to the babbling waters of the creek nearby. Fall is a wondrous time in the Sierra!McGee Creek is located off of California's Highway 395 between the towns of Bishop and Mammoth Lakes. It is located in the Inyo National Forest and is part of the John Muir Wilderness Area in Mono County.
