Artist Statement My father enjoyed photography as a serious hobby.
His love of photography inspired my love for the art as well. As a child he would show me different techniques before sending me off with his camera. I couldn't have been more than nine and I was already using my allowance to buy different kinds of film. I remember 35mm was not only expensive to process, but it took time to get the photo slides delivered. When my dad would arrive with the box of slides, I knew it was a good day. We would set up the slide projector, pop some popcorn, and voila! A photo night would provide us much more than just entertainment. I would be amazed at the photos my dad took, "Wow that one is good! No wait! I like that one". When one of my pictures was projected on the wall I was so proud. I remember jumping up and down, saying "I took that one!". My father would laugh, telling me "That one is good, but what do you think you could have done better? He pushed me to be better, and became my greatest teacher. This is what I love doing and I still share my photos and ask for my father's opinion.
