Artist Statement Ronald Tamfalan is a 33 years old painter sculptor from the Philippines, most of his paintings conveys much of his tribe’s culture and history. He is a T’boli, born and lives at the peak of the mountain of Barangay Falil, Kiamba Sarangani Province, from which he is blessed to have the beautiful panoramic view of Sarangani province and the Celebes Sea.

Not only has he honed his own skill in painting, his neighbors as well. Almost every children and adults are learning paintings through Ronald; their village is turning into an Art Museum for every house in the village is becoming into an art gallery. In their free time, almost every one in the village learns to paint with Ronald.

Ronald is into oil painting, but also makes use of colors which he gets from tree sap that are available in his surroundings. He also uses soil, clay mud, limestone and mixes these to other media to create variety of colors.

Ronald wishes to buy more canvass and colors for his poor students, selling his Paintings and the paintings of his students can certainly help fulfill their wishes to paint more… Well, it certainly can help for their daily subsistence and for their studies as well. Most of his students are grade school.

He is Married with two little girls, ages 3 and 4.
